Goes to war on wood that is.
It chops..
It batons..
It makes kindling..
It makes curlies..
And it makes fire to burn it's nemesis..
I even managed to get it to stick in the tree a few times(out of about 30 throws <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />)
before I left sunday.

Saturday we went for a walk around the old stomping grounds up behind camp..

On the way up the hill I ran into a Nighthawk trying to lure me away from it's nest by flying a few feet & acting like it's wing was broken.
I didn't get a pic because it blended in too good & wouldn't let me get too close before flying a few more feet away.
I did find it's nest though.
They just lay their eggs on the ground.

I took a break on this nice big log & decided to make the worlds biggest fuzz stick.
No problem for the War Dog..

On the way back to camp I found this rub tree, looks like a favorite of the deer(or elk) that left some hair behind. They must like the sap.

Found a nice turky tail feather not far from the rub.

I decided to take the long way out of the woods sunday hoping to see some wild life & got lucky.
There was a herd of elk spread all along this logged area.
They were just grazing & laying around relaxing.

In conclusion..the War Dog is a great knife.
The Res c handle is very comfy in all the grips I used.
The flared butt provides a secure 1-2 finger grip for light chopping.
The point is great for drilling/prying.
The finger guard keeps your hand from slipping down the blade.
The thickness of the blade makes kindling slivers pop off.
I even used the edge to strike the ferro rod with no ill effects.(Tried the spine first, but it's not sharp enough.)
What a knife!
It took all I threw at it & asked for more.
It's lived up to my expectations.
This baby will be with me whenever I'm in the woods for now on.
And the only sharpening I've done is a few licks on a ceramic rod to touch it up.
What a knife!!!
The best dumpster diving Dan's done yet IMO!
What a knife...oh wait,I said that already didn't I. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />
Ain't it purdy?
