My brother and I got out for some Canada Day fishing or at least the day after.
We went to easily accessible places because we were in my car but there are some nice fishing holes right of the highway.
Our first spot and the furthest out, Kenneth Creek. About 40 mins east of Prince George. It runs under the highway via a large culvert. Unfortunately I didn't take pics! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/blush.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/doh.gif" alt="" />
From there we headed back toward town to the Bowron river.
A view of the river.

Looking down to the creek that enters the river from a small one lane bridge. Usually a good fishing area but the river was pretty high and fast.

Across the bridge looking at the creek again.

LUNCH time!!!
This is my brother enjoying the view and fire.

The snake was the only wild life we saw other than the two (only two) fish my brother caught.

I REALLY loved using the SS4! It is easily my favorite knife right now!! Perfect EDC size and weight and it's great as a bushcraft tool.
Both my brother and I used it for light batoning duty, whittling and some feather sticks.
Held it's edge easily and was very easy to choke up on and control.
The Crash Axe is an AWESOME chopper. At one point (sorry no pic) we came across a log blocking the trail. I pulled the Rat out and began chopping. After about 30 secs it was DONE!!!
My brother was blown away!!!
The log was only about 4 inches at the largest point and 3" on the other end. Small but the Rat blew HUGE chunks out of it!!
We had a great time.

Hope you enjoy the pics!!

AWESOME PICS!

I'm so envious of you folks that live in the GREAT NORTH, I could never talk my wife into leaving the city. I think she's worried about being able to make a living, and that's understandable. I've made HUGE geographical moves in my life and have always been able to find gainful employment, but I've only done it once since we've been together, and that was moving from Hawaii (where we met) back to her home state of Texas (I'm from California).

I love the SS4 as well, and I'm currently on the hunt for a Crash Axe.

The first thing I thought was the river sure looks high, they are the same down here.
There's been a few drownings already.
Love the snake pic,but love the dirty SS4 pic more, glad you're enjoying it Steve.
Drooling over the rat too.
Thanks for the pics man.

Nice pics, Thanks. I finally scored an ss4 on the exchange this weekend so when it gets here I will be able to compare. I have always wanted a Crash Rat but they don't last long on the exchange. I passed on one for 300 this weekend as it was a bit more than I wanted to pay, and with the new swamp hawk coming out I was thinking of waiting for it. Now I'm not sure if I may need both.

Thanks for the little review of the Crash Rat. Like I said I have always wanted one but have not heard too much actual use comments.

Cool snake but would have rather seen pictures of the fish. I was hoping to see some nice trout <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />

Great pictures. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif" alt="" />

The Crash Rat is great around a camp, and at home I use mine through winter for breaking up some fire starters.

The rest of the time it just lives under the drivers seat on my truck. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />
Thanks for sharing the pictures.
Ian.

I told my wife I wanted to be cremated. She made me an appointment for tomorrow afternoon. grin
