Well, guys, I have been absent to the forums somewhat during leave and checking into the new command. I am almost settled into Salt Lake City as a home, but the new job will take some adapting. Apparently I am responsible for a tenth of the U.S. continental land. I will be doing the marketing and public affairs for 370,000 square miles of Utah, Idaho, Wyoming, Montana, Nevada and Oregon.

I will be traversing this area in this thing (well, one just like it, I just haven't taken a pic of mine yet).

My sergeant major handed me a set keys the first day on the new job. Then, he showed me the ride. So far so good. Then he showed me the warehouse behind our command post. This thing is huge (will fit about 5 large buses) and apparently I am responsible for everything in it. So much for this being a desk job. Anybody need a t-shirt? Yes it is full of Marine Corps marketing scwhagg.

I actually locked on a place for my recruiters to set up a booth at a couple of concerts today. Kenny Chessney and some other famous country singer. Can't remember since I am not a fan. I am working on a Sublime concert for next month.

Well, that is my update in life. I know you wanted to read about it since you miss me so much.

Congrates and sorry for what sounds like a ton of work but I'm sure you can handle it. I remember you were headed back to the U.S. nice to see you back here on the boards and the area sounds nice.

My mother told me if didn't have anything nice to say then don't say anything but that never stopped me before.

No need to be sorry. I should be fine after this painful learning curve.

Then it will be time to get out to recruiting sub-stations in my AOR and see the countryside. I am excited about it.

Looks like your going to have fun. I have a son and daughter living in the Salt Lake area. I have many friends in the Rocky Mountain region. Your living in Gods back yard. Enjoy the duty and Semper Fi.

Congrats on the new gig JJ. Thanks to all who serve our great country.

You have the most beautiful parts of our great land to roam. Don't miss the Oregon coast.
