Hi Folks.

I used to collect knives when I was a boy. Of course, things were very differant back in the 60s, and I had no clue as to what constituted a superior blade. Over the years, I kept the passion, but did not really indulge it.
About 2 years ago, I decided I could dabble in collecting again, and started reading up on what were considered good knives. Of course there were the popular names that folks always say are the best. Then I literally stumbled upon
the Busse family of knives. I was very impressed with what I was reading, and decided that I had to get at least 2 of each of the Busse family knives. A small utilitarian blade, and a camper/chopper from each maker.

So far, I have purchased a "Scrapivore" from the store, and a collectors "6.5" mil Regulator SYKCO" The Regulator wasn't really in my plans, but it was so unique that the voices took control, and now I have it. (still need a sheath for it.)

I still want something like a "Dogfather" from the Scrapyard family. Will eventually get some Busse and Swamprats of course. I think I'm doomed.

I noticed the forum, and thought this would be a good experience while probably educating me much faster.

Hope to learn a lot, make some friends, and hopefully contribute in some positive way.

Welcome aboard Domino1 <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> You've found the friendliest forum on the Internet <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />

You're in luck, the Scrap Yard 911 will come out sometime between 2 weeks and a year from now, its somewhat comparable to a Dogfather, though a tad thinner and shorter. I've held this blade about a month ago and am really looking forward to this release.

Would you say that the 911 is as thin as the DFLE? (I hope)

Welcome aboard Domino1!

Welcome aboard Domino1!

I held one at blade, but I think it was thinner than the DFLE.

I believe the DFLE is .25"

Sweet!
Thin fast and light is what I'm looking for...anything to lighten the bag and still get quality performance
