I need to get some decent sheathes from somewhere like Rainwalker, but mostly just out of curiousity, does anyone know of other commercial nylon sheaths besides the Spec Ops, and obviously the ones that Scrapyard sells? I know Eagle supplies nylon sheaths to some manufacturers but I'm not sure I have seen them for sale individually, beyond this kind of small sheath I just found at Cheaper than Dirt. http://www.cheaperthandirt.com/EAG127-1.html

I heard semperparatus tactical makes some nice nylon sheaths. http://www.semperparatustactical.com/products/sheaths.htmlThose CTD sheaths look pretty nice. It says it will fit only 4.5" blade. I wonder if it would fit a 5" blade like the 511? Not bad for the price.

Go through the selection here http://www.knifecenter.com/kc_new/store_...4datarq%3Dnylon might be one you can use. I can hear the ARFhowls now if you buy from CTD bro

Eagle makes nice stuff. I think they might make sheathes for K-Bar.
Those custom sheaths look cool, I guess you an adjust the ride height. That's my only beef with Spec Ops, they hang too low or if you use the rope loops to raise it the belt loops are kind of an annoyance.

Aimless...is there any specific knife you're looking to sheath?

For what It's worth, I have my BullDog in the Sheath from the yard (listed as a 6 inch sheath I THINK) that I got to house my 6.5. I mailed it off to Rainwalker with the 6.5 so it would not cut throught anything and Jeff checked and said it would fit ok but could stand a slight lengthening of the insert. He I THINK put a 1/4 to 1/2 inch extension on the insert with duck tape as It will only be housing the Bulldog until I figure out what it's new home is gonna be. BUT I personally don't know why it wouldn't work as the regular carry sheath. I mean you could add a short extension made out of any semi-rigid material, and the duct tape is only there to keep it in place.
Oh well, long post out.

Aimless...is there any specific knife you're looking to sheath? I guess not. I have a War Dog and 511 coming eventually, but I also have a few other knives, one I got from JJ Todd years ago (that was an adventure) that need sheaths, mostly shorter (well you guys would call them shorter ha ha) knives.

If you're not completely set on nylon (hard for me to find any good generic ones as well), maybe get a nice leather sheath made by our very own Rainwalker here?
He does really good work

I was just curious if anyone had another source for "get it now" sheaths, kind of like buying a DeSantis holster for a new pistol until the Kramer eventually arrives. I've already been pestering Rainwalker

I can't think of any generic nylon sheaths for smaller knives (or bigger for that matter). I mostly have knives in the 3-4" range...for EDC / hunting.
The problem with Kydex is that you can't re-use it for the next design that comes out. But, if you go that route...you might contact BuyBrown (or others), sometimes they post sales on the BladeForums for overstock of certain designs...good deals to be had. It's common, especially on the limited releases such as the War Dog.
I have a good Rainwalker Pouch sheath designed for an SS4, but I use it for the WarDog for now while it's official sheath is being made *taps foot*. I may go Kydex for the 5-11 though!!
