So, I went camping at Rock Creek (about 25 miles down from Big Bear, CA) To process wood, I brought the closest thing I have to a big chopper- my busse nmsfno.
It had been sent to nate (norcalblacktail @ BF) for a mean convex edge, and looked otherwise unused.
It can no longer be considered unused.

[color:"blue"] Here is a part of a log I broke up with rocks. I decided to chop this section in half.

I used it to shred a bunch of precut wood too

the folder that went with me on a mountain bike ride. It's smaller compared to the nmsfno

The nmsfno was fun to chop with, and was a champ at splitting wood via batoning!

ps, the rest of knives I took with me were kershaw folders. Folders were the ones that actually went with me mountain biking and ended up cleaning the 8 trout I caught.

Now I'm really looking forward to a real big chopper

In my world, the NMSFNO IS the BEST overall camp knife. Not too big, not to heavy, chops and batons like a dream. I only own 8 or 9 Bussekin knives and if they all had to go but one, I'd keep the NMSFNO. I'm trying to decide which knife to piggyback to my NMSFNO sheath, my rodent solution, War Dog or my (maybe soon to be) Hog Muk. Then I will have the perfect belt setup for camping/backpacking.

Nice pics! I'll have to take some pics my next trip.

Yeah that moon pic is extraordinary <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/ooo.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />. I really like Nates work, looks like he did a very good job.

Not having the RS or the HM I would say go with the Solution, or the Muk. The muk is a VERY nice blade, but with the Busse, the RS might be a better companion blade, MAYBE more versatile.
