.....fruit.
Dragon fruit!!!
A kind, up and coming HOG sent me a care package that included his new and unused DSSF in it!!
The dragon didn't stand a chance!!! Meeting in on the battlefield with the ref in the background.
[Linked Image from i983.photobucket.com]
The DSSF strikes quickly with a fatal blow slashing the Dragon in half effortlessly!!!
[Linked Image from i983.photobucket.com]
To ensure victory the DSSF skinned the Dragon...
[Linked Image from i983.photobucket.com]
...and chopped it into bite size pieces!!
[Linked Image from i983.photobucket.com]
Love this knife!!! Not sure if he'll get it back!!! Thanks T!!
I get to meet him this weekend when he comes down for a visit and I'll get pics up of some real INFI violence!!!

Dragon fruit! never heard of it. Sure does look funny. Can you describe the taste?

Hahaha! Funny you ask.
The texture is very similar to kiwi fruit. I described the taste to my daughter as "tasting the way flowers smell".
That's the best I can do.
It's good and I would recommend trying it sometime.

Ok, Kiwi I have had, not bad. Don't know if I have ever seen a dragon fruit before. Do you chill it or just eat it at room temp?

I chilled it. If you leave it out at room temp it will continue to ripen.

Ok, thanks Steve may have to look around and see what I can come up with. I just ate my first pomegranate last year! Not bad.

Well time for me to split the sheets. This will be my Thursday night and then only one more to go and I'm off for a couple.

Y'all take care, it's a weird world out there, and getting stranger by the day! Be aware and be safe.

never heard of that either. If didn't expect the white insides but when saw the little black seeds I thought about kiwi. interesting fruit... and the DSSF looks like a great Fruit Dragon slayer. I would like to try both sometime.

Thanks for the pics...

guys if you have never had the dragon you need to try and get ahold of one and try it in the US its sometimes hard to find because like everything else it comes in seasons and its only for a short season i do belive but its like he said its hard to describe the taste but the texture is like a kiwi also on the to try list if you havent star fruit its another great one if you can find it

Never had dragonfruit, but I'll chime in with another vote for starfruit (Carambole as its also sometimes called). Make sure you chill it a lot before eating. Its very fresh, like eating a glass of lemonade

Interesting Fruit and Interesting discussion! I always enjoy going to the small Asian or international markets, there always seems to be something new and interesting in the way of fresh fruit and vegetables.
