Hi gang, I feel a little weird posting this, but I have gotten to know quiet a few people here.
Tomm. I am going in for surgery. My shoulder. I know its not life threatening but its my first surgery and first time going under. I guess I am thinking about my dad. He went in for a routine chemo session, they kept him due to his vitals and he never came home again. Three weeks in the hospital he passed. I was there the whole time with him. It makes you think if you were to go tomm. what did you leave unresolved today. Bills, a mess that your family will have to clean up, documents and important papers not organized for the surviving family. Maybe a long unsetteled family dispute that seemed so important at the time. It makes you think. Earlier in the week a little five year old went in to a clinic for a broken arm. They gave her a local but gave too much and she died. From going in for a broken arm!

So I guess I am a little apprehensive. I know alot of people have it worse and Im not trying to bring anyone down on the best knife forum around. But maybe it will make some people think about their lives.

First of all, I wish you the very best on your surgery and hope that you have a speedy recovery. Secondly, I would not want to use the same hospital/doctors as your Dad and the others used if at all possible. If that can't be avoided, mention to the doctors that you and your family are aware of the previous problems (make them think law-suits!). Around here, minor problems may be treated locally, but major problems end up in either Joplin or Springfield at the major hospitals.

Godspeed for your recovery. I think your post made me think how unprepared I am for such a scenerio. That is a good thing because you are right....you never know when it is gonna be your time. I would hate to leave my kids with any burden.
