Looks like I can't avoid a 911..darm <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

I guess I should have asked 711+911 or 911x2?

I'm getting both only because I want them both but if I only could get one it would be the 911. My thinking is I have a SOD that covers a 7 inch blade and it is the largest one I own and everyone should have a big chopper in there rotation.

The 911 at Blade was thinner and lighter than the DogFather, kind of like a shorter Busse B-11. I think it's pretty awesome! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />

I like the profile of the SYKCO large blades. Tom, do you remember a) if they are saber or full height flat ground, and b) if they are closer to i) .1875", ii).220", or iii) .25" thick (for both 911 & 711).

Thanks!

The 911 at Blade had a full flat grind, it seemed fairly thin to me, so am guessing .220 or under (didn't bring calipers <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" /> )

I know I'm not Tom, but figured I'd answer anyway, maybe he can help with the width.

Awesome, thanks MD. Didn't realize you went to Blade....glad to get any feedback.

Are you able to compare the blade width to a BWM? The CG's were 3/16 (or .1875). From your comments, looks like the 911 might have some heft on the BWM...which I would favor. .220" might be darn right perfect!! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />

Are we talking something like a M9LE with ResC?!?! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/eek.gif" alt="" />

My M9LE could use a compadre... I think I'd prefer the res on something like that anyways.

I handled it at blade and I would say the M9LE is a pretty close comparison.

Sorry, didn't think to compare it to anything at the table, I've only held a BWM once, same for the 911, so its anyone's guess, I just recall it was fairly thin, and the .200-.220 range is purely guesswork on my part. Definitely felt lighter than my DF, so think it was a lot thinner.

Hello Monster Dog! Saw some of your "Flash Idiots" on the TV this morning. I think the Mayor has a good start.

Even if the 911 was a quarter inch thick it would still be lighter than the DF. I THINK the DF is .275 thick!
