The big blades--DFs, SODs, Choppers of all sorts and Regulators galore--get the blood pumping, the heart pounding, and the drool dripping. Mid sized camp blades--Ratmandu, SS5, 511, Scrapper 6 and their kind--get captured in all sorts of compromising pictures and posted all over the forums. But what about the smaller, unsung EDCs? Where's the love? These are the work horses of the arsenal, the ones that are called on to cut everything from cordage to cabbage. I'd argue Bussekin makes a fine EDC. For me, I have:

-- Hairy Carry LE
-- Mud Puppy CG
-- a Swamp Warden with custom G-10 scales
-- 2 naked Swamp Wardens
-- Rodent Solution
-- and a Scrapivore
-- I'll throw it in there that the Yard Muk CG also counts here, although it is a bit more specialized
-- Can't forget the HRLMs--one in sage/tan and one in black/bruiser

When I list it out, it seems like an awful lot <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

muppy and wardens see the most play time, although the RS gets used a fair bit. Come hunting season, that HCLE is gonna make a heckuva deer knife!

Remember, it's not always the size that matters. Good things DO come in small packages <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

Anyone else love their little ones?

I love my Swampwarden, great little blade.

I also miss my Bandicoot so much, I'm not sure what I was thinking when I traded her off ! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/doh.gif" alt="" />

This is why I'm looking forward to the 411.....Great Mudder grips, great steel....hopefully great price <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crossfingers.gif" alt="" />, what's not to love !!!! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />

Yup, the smaller blades do seem to get used more often, they're just so handy!

Love the smaller blades, the MPLE is probably my favorite Bussekin knife.

SS4 is tops for me in this category.

The new Swamp 311 looks very much like a Busse SAR3, and I think it will be a big winner. For me, I am REALLY excited about the Swamp 411...it gives the length of the SS4, but with the exposed spine of the SAR3. I think it will be a wonderful knife.

Of course...gotta have the SYKCO 411 as well. Might be a bit redundant for me, but I gotta at least hold it once <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />

Great thread...I love the EDC's. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />

I certainly LOVE my little ones!!
I have more small/mid size simply because I can pack them on a daily basis. They all go on rotation.
Just received this little bitty yesterday,

I also have an SS4, Vore LE, Muk, Bird Dog (on the way), and a Fat Warden.
Love my lil ones!!

I love small blades, and have many. I generally carry a small fixed blade, SW, SV, ect, and they do see more daily use sometimes. But it's the bigger blades that I grab when I really have some real significant cutting to do. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

The small ones are the ones I am most likely to have with me, hence the most useful <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />
I don't have a mudpuppy though and I really need one (to go with all my other small blades, of course). For the ResC handle not just the blade size.
sigh

I have plenty of love for the smaller blades, but I usually carry a DFLE or SAR-8 most of the time --- because I CAN!!! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />
