Once in awhile there comes along a knife that just truly impresses me and makes me wish everything was made just like it. In the Ratmandu prototype i have found that knife in a 6 inch blade. This Knife has so much utility and versatility im not sure i can find something that can beat it. over labor day weekend i took this knife for the first time out to my farm and used it. I was able to split wood with it, Make feather sticks with ease, make shelter with it, strike my fire rod with it. Drill with it, and just so much more. The only thing i have done to it so far was take off the sage coating and blue it. what impressed me about the blue process with this knife is that i dont think i have been able to get anything as beautiful as this one when i have done it. must be something in the stock just took to the process very well. these pictures wont do justice to it but ill try. the blue is so bright and shimmering that it is hard to get a good picture because of camera and light reflections.

Looks good, Miles!

How much did these go for @ Blade? I'm really hoping Eric releases the 6" RatManDu at some point...I've got my eye on these, but I can't see paying secondary prices for what a Boss Jack can be had for.

For now, I'll just pray that the "Proto" means we will see some sort of release on these in the future...but, I'm not holding my breath. The SYKCO 711 may take that slot.

My mother told me if didn't have anything nice to say then don't say anything but that never stopped me before.

Nice score!

I don't have a RMD yet but it's always on the short list. looks like a really good utility blade to have close by.

The Ratmandu is one of those knives that came out just right. I have a lot of 5" blade knives from a lot manufacturers including Busse, Gerber, Grohman, Ontario, Camillus, SOG, ESSE and others. The Ratmandu is still my favorite.
