It looks useful to me. I would beat it like a rented mule.

It looks like something Conan the Barbarian would use. Er maybe I should say The Adulterator! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

Hey Randy, I got the LD-40 thanks to your suggestions. I like it a lot!! Thanks for the help. Glad you like it. I think I will probably order one after payday. I need to get another SMALL single aaa cell light so when/if my maratac craps out I'll still have a good little light. I hope those were two seperate thoughts. The LD-40 is a rather large, 4 - AA light. It is very nice though - 7 different settings, very neutral colored light (more on the cool side). It's perfect for a BOB and is well priced.

That was my thinking. Plus on the lower settings it has a really long run time which could be important in certain situations. At least to my thinking that would be the case.

Sorry, yeah they are separate thoughts. I want the LD40 mainly for the long run time that is available in the different modes along with the signaling option. I ALSO want to get another small 3aaa light for EDC pocket carry incase/when the one I have now stops working.

Hey! Yeah randy, the low setting is great. It's light enough for close quarters at a camp site. I thinks it's 7 or 8 lumens. The highest setting is very bright! I also like how the handle is oblong; it provides a better grip than a circular body. That's a definite benefit of the polymer body.
