LOL I'm pretty sure grandpa never had a surefire. I found some of their first stuff in the basement the other day. It was great stuff at the time.

yeah I've got one of their older (got it about 13-14 years ago) single 123 battery lights. Man it seems anemic compared to a couple three of my LED's

For it's time it was great stuff but the battery life sucked. This one was and early recharable with a bizarre battery. It looked like a double A with 9 volt connectors.

I've been talking to the chief deputy and trying to get him to switch out the modules in the rechargeable mag lights they use to the led modules. No luck so far.

I have been doing that with mine. More light and nearly double the burn time. Way cheaper than getting a new light.

Yep and it snapped into a 2 piece charger. as long as 2 of the 123's but only 3 volts.

Yeah, I have a 3D Maglight in the truck that I put an LED bulb in. I'm pretty satisfied with it.
