At least you can find ammo for a .300 Savage. I have a .284 Winchester that is awful to find ammo for. And when you do, it's $40 or so a box.

I thought about reloading, but I'd have to buy all the dies and stuff for it. Plus I never shoot the gun much anyway, I hunt with my 30.06

I checked natchez and they don't have it either. I have. 223,9mm,.22,45acp&lc and. 380 all of which are common.

Only place I find it regularly is gun shows. And they know it's rare, so I pay an arm and a leg for it.

Last I found was at a little country store in South Carolina. He had two boxes on his shelf for $18 each. Looked like they hadn't been moved in 20 years. I bought them both, and they shoot like brand new.

Dad has hunted with that gun since he bought it at the PX in 1962, I think it was. He shoots it once a year to check zero, and after that only if he pulls the trigger on a deer. He gets upset if I take it and just shoot, so I don't shoot much.
