Computers, video games, working on cars, stuff like that. He's suprisingly good at working on vehicles. He's got a real knack for it.

Yeah, at that age thinking about the future isn't really a top priority. But it's a tough world out there, and getting harder all the time.

Night Gundog! Take care, and congrats on fixing your ATV axle.

Sounds he MIGHT do well going into some sort of aircraft mechanic stuff or computers, or heck even flying drones!

Now if he could get into aircraft mechanics or being an aircraft crew chief it could possible help him on the outside. A&P (airframe and power plant) aircraft mechanics on the outside don't do to bad I think.

I try to drill that into his head every day. Life ain't easy, not if you want to make something of yourself.

One thing I've found out YEARS ago, is if you like what you're doing and make enough money to pay all your bills and still have some "playing" money left over you don't need to make the mega bucks. Just liking/enjoying your job means A LOT.

That's what he's thinking about, aircraft mechanic. Lots of opportunities there once he gets out.

I'm like that too. I don't want it ALL, just enough to get by without worrying about stuff. Liking what you're doing means more than money.

Well just tell him to make sure it's working on the airframe, avionics or engines and NOT something like Aircraft WEAPONS mechanic. He does that he'll probably wind up loading bombs like I did before my knees got messed up and I was cross trained into airfield management.
