I went to the car wash at lunch today. It was one of those do it your self pressure washer and foam brush jobs.
I put a five in the machine to get quarters. When I went to put the quarters in to turn the pressure on, I noticed the first one was a silver Washington quarter. Then I noticed half the other quarters I got out of the machine were silver too. I put all my cash into the machine and it kept giving me a silver quarter about every third one. I ran out of money and went to the ATM and took out $200 and put 60 bucks in the machine before it ran out of quarters. Then I tried the other machines, but they gave regular quarters. Out of about 400 quarters, I had 131 silver ones. I brought the other quarters to the bank and got bills.
131 quarters is $32.75 face value, but comes out to $812 on the low end of silver prices.

I didn't screw up during the narration of the ball and my date and everyone else seemed to have a great time.
The general came up to me and said he thought I did a great job and loved the fact that I didn't try to hide my accent. He said it sounded very natural and reminded him of the diversity in the Corps. I have a pretty thick southern draw/twang.
