That's true Lazi. I was just perusing Gemtech's website, and they said you can shoot .22 through a 9mm can with excellent results. If I could do that, I'd try to get a 9mm can and I'd be good for pretty much everything I'd shoot.

Only 22s I have are a 10/22 rifle and a Buckmark. Figure it would mostly be for fun and "Stealth". PLUS if worse came to worse with an integral 10-22 the barrel could be swapped from action to action. Sides, I am MUCH better off with a rifle. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

I'd end up putting it on a rifle, I'd imagine. But I'd still like to be able to swap it around if need be.

I had thought about a "Can" but kinda ruled it out as I just like the aesthetics of an Integral better and wouldn't be happy with an integrally suppressed pistol

I found a dealer near me that has a Ruger MkII with a Gemtech OutbackII and a red dot sight for $599, plus the $200 hit to the ATF

If I were to get that, I could still swap the can around with other .22 LR stuff.

I've shot a suppressed 9mm before, but I think for my purposes a .22LR would be more appropriate.

IF you "Swap" it around wouldn't you need to do the tax stamp thing all over again for every weapon or is it if you get a "Can" it can be swapped around at will?

No, the tax is for the suppressor itself, internal or external.

Never even been around a suppressed weapon. There is a guy here just down the block from the Sheriff's office that is into class III weapons. Guess I need to get in touch with him and get his input.

And a short barreled shotgun is an "AOW" Any Other Weapon, tax stamp is only $5 for them.
