I don't think he expected that stump to be moving.

Never had a squirrell jump on me. I have had a Bobcat jump in my lap and a Falcon land on me. Both scared the beejesuz out of me. The bob cat never knew and the Falcon about killed himself trying to fly away when I flinched.

Nope the Bobcat was chasing a cottontail and I was sitting down talking a break while archery hunting. I did play awhile with two of her juvenile kits that were trailing behind.

Now that is cool.A couple years back I had a lynx escort me out of his territory.
You just can't imagine how cool these things are unless they happen to you.
I had a hawk swoop down and grab a chickidee not 2 feet from my head one time

I've only been close to one bobcat in the wild, and it also jumped on me while chasing a squirrel. Scared the crap out of me. I tried to get it, but couldn't get a clean shot. I doubt it ever knew that I was there.

That was many years ago, when I hunted in full camo and face paint. I don't know if it matters, but haven't had many close calls at all since NC made wearing orange mandantory even in small game season.

One time I had a squirrel jump onto my thigh while I was sitting cross-legged. I saw him coming so it didn't surprise me, when I said Hi to it, it just about turned itself inside out running away
