I actually low crawled a rabbit today. He was a monster of a bunny and wouldn't let me within 50 yards until I low crawled up to it. I had flashbacks of Nam. I even yelled "die Charlie" after I popped him. Too cool there Good thing you didn't have a bayonet!

At the extreme end of that I chased down a rabbit and caught one when I was a kid. Big mistake. I can see a kid holding a scared rabbit. I bet you needed some bandaids.

When I picked up the rabbit and walked over to my bike, I saw the farmer in his tractor watching me. I am pretty sure he saw the whole thing. I bet he regrets signing that permission card to hunt on his land. At least you didn't cut it's throat and wipe the blood on your face while chanting. You didn't, did you?

I put a lot of stock in camo and being still. I have nad elk and deer walk right up to me while avoiding people hundreds of yards away. Of course success with a bow means getting close. I have never taken an animal at more than 20 yards away with a bow. The closest was 12 feet.

I usually wear jeans and a camo jacket as outerwear. Only reason I wear my camo jacket is because it's warm and comfy, and not worried if I get it bloody or muddy. I don't put a lot of stock in the camo stuff. I killed a nice 8 pointer last year wearing a black long sleeve t-shirt and blue jeans. Most of my gear is camo simply because that is what is mostly available around here. Personally I think most camp is designed to look good/cool to the people that buy it

The way I make my blinds, camo doesn't matter much except MAYBE walking in and out. As long as I sit fairly still, I'm golden.

My cousin bowhunts in a ghillie suit. My family always laugh at him when we go hunting, but he always bags a buck.

It works, but it is a sight to see him disappear into the woods looking like Wookie with a bow.
