We'll be getting a new building and everything out of the deal, but I'm trying to stay on here at the Sheriffs dept as a night desk clerk. They'll have to have someone here 24/7 to handle walk in traffic, and they're talking about a non-sworn position for the nighttime stuff.

We went to get certified in EPD dispatching, then the county promptly didn't schedule us any inservice to keep the certification nor did they get the software to run the EPD protocols.

Now we all get to do it all over again.

I made a point to become the liason between patrol and dispatch. I sat through a few shifts and asked all kinds of questions. Thats when i found out how bad it really was and that they no longer worked for us anymore. Officer safety is not a priority nor is public safety. 911 is.

I don't know that I could do the job under that premise. THE most important thing I do every night is make sure my officers come back without any extra holes in them.

I'm gonna pass on the 711. Already passed on the 511 as I already have three in that size. Now the 411, maybe.

And I do consider them MY officers. I worry when they don't answer the radio on a hot call, or when I send them to calls that are inherantly dangerous. We had a deputy get shot a couple years ago serving an involuntary committment order. That's when I figured out there was no such thing as an ordinary call.

7-11 is just too much like the SOD for me. But for all those Dogs that were wanting a SOD, here's their chance!

Hunted all week last week, except for Wednesday. Saw a lot of white tails and slick heads. Haven't got to go this week, but I will Friday morning.

I wouldn't mind heading down to Ark and getting a nice whitetail buck.

The county that borders us on the north and the one just to the Northwest of us led this part of the state with deer kills. I think the most killed in one county in the state was up in the central part of the state somewhere, they had 4500 PLUS deer killed in just one county!

Thats a lot of deer.
