I have a sig 228 that is my go to ccw but I was thinking about something fullsized, I've had a beretta 92 and it was a dream and the taurus 92 was also really nice but the beretta was as smooth as silk when you rack the slide. I never cared for the glock even though it is a superb weapon I just don't like the striker type weapons, just a personal thing.

i was also looking at the eaa witness. the fact that you can swap all the available calibers on the same frame is pretty cool. each of those uppers is around $250 or so. would make it easy to pick up something new without breaking the bank. plus the all cz75 styled guns usually all feel pretty good in hand.

but to buy a 1911 right at the end of 2011 is just a cool thing to do. I was hoping I would maybe be able to pick a Rock Island this year but the funds didn't work out.

I've got 3 1911s, 2 sig gsr and a sweet kimber pro cdp and love them all but the kimber is the nicest feeling gun in my hand but you're right it being the 100th anniversary of the 1911 is pretty cool.

Ok Lazi, I checked out the FNs but not my taste but thanks for the heads up. I'm doing some serious reseach and my eyes are getting tired.

I want a 1911 22cal or a 1911 in 9mm, I want the sig 22 but the 9mm is either going to be a taurus 1911 or a fullsize DA/SA of some kind. Any recommendations on the 9mm? My wife wants to get one for me for Christmas(Love that woman, I was looking at the sig, taurus and even a kimber pro in 9mm today and she says to me what about an H&K? Now I really have to think about it. The only thing I know for sure is I want the sig 1911 in 22cal. I'm really tempted by the Sig 1911 .22lr on sale next weekend at our Cabelas. Brownings reduced scale .22 1911 is cool to. But really want to save up for something like JJ is doing with a silencer. Got to decide on the platform and save up some money. knives keep getting in the way though.
