So, I decided to make a Bacon Explosion (in the oven, not true BBQ, I know.)

Please excuse crappy cellphone pics, click for larger.

The weave with pork rub, honey and a little BBQ sauce:

With mild Italian sausage on:

More spices added, pork rub, ground pepper, BBQ sauce and bacon (cooked with whisky, honey and pork rub):

Looking all pretty rolled up without and with pork rub:

Spices used (along with freshly ground pepper):

Now to sit back and wait for it to cook for a an hour or so @350F:

If you can make it down here by dinner time, sure <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

I'm going to turn these canned beans and some bacon drippings into a passable side:

With some onions, rosemary, thyme, and why not some more whisky, cumin and cayenne?:

The Bacon Explosion is pretty much done, brushed some honey and BBQ sauce on the outside and dialed the oven down to 250F, will leave it in there for a while:

Ready to serve, at which point I realized I forgot to put the bell pepper I bought into the beans <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" /> I did put a little extra BBQ sauce on and used my wife's home made pickles:

Homemade pickles taste so much better than store-bought ones. Thanks for making my mouth water. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

How do I get an invite to dinner? You have amazing taste in beer, meat, beans, and bourbon.

Thanks for looking <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

Sukhoi Breeze : We try to make a lot of things from scratch, my wife is getting very adept at pickling and baking and we both enjoy cooking.

wrxguyusa : Our home is always open for good company <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />
