Sorry guys but I just have to vent. A couple of hours ago we had to put down our 18 month old cat.
Night before last he didn't come home, which has only happened 3 or 4 times before. Normally he slept in our bed snuggled up to my wife. Yesterday around dinner time he came home. He couldn't move his back end much and he was obviously in a lot of pain. He slept in our bed all evening and all night, next to my wife. We took him to the vet this morning, and after examining him and x-rays this is what the vet said. SOMEBODY KICKED THE CAT SO HARD THAT IT SHATTERED HIS HIP AND PELVIS. The vet said that it was a miracle that he made it home and it showed how much he loved my wife. His front claws were ripped apart from dragging himself home.
The vet said there was absolutely nothing that could be done for him.
Most people that know me will tell you that I am one of the calmest and most even tempered people they know.
Right now I am so angry that I hope I don't find out who did it.
My wife and kids are devastated over this both by the loss of their cat and the thought that someone could do this.
I have to get off now, before this laptop gets imbedded in a wall

That sucks, sorry for your loss. I'll admit I don't even like cats that much but is just wrong.

I am not a cat person, but I understand the fact a pet is part of the family. I can only imagine how you feel about this, but I will happily join your linch mob.

I'm so sorry to hear that, I have 4 cats myself and know how I would react in the same situation.
People are really cruel to animals, cats in particular, they don't understand what loving and unique pets they can be. My wife volunteers at a shelter, and you will not believe the horror stories we hear about animal cruelty, I don't even want to repeat them here.
This is the reason none of our cats are allowed outside.
Needless to say, sign me up for the mob if you find out who did this.

First off let me state it is wrong to harm an animal in this fashion. Unacceptable. However, having been on the other side of the fence for every cat that loves you, that cat hates someone else. I love cats, but when I have a dozen strays that peform their duty in my garden they have to go. They also ruined my neighbors porch swing from urinating on it. I humanely trap them and survey the neighbors before turning them over to the SPCA. Please if you love your animals keep them in your yard.

I don't care if someone like cats or hates them. If you don't want a cat in your yard, then hit it with a bucket of water, spray it with a hose. Pepper spray it if you are that desperate (if you don't want to talk to your neighbours or trap them). But there is no excuse for animal cruelty. This cat was virtualy paralysed in his back end. He tore away his front claws dragging himself back home.
I hunt and I grew up on a hobby farm, I but I do not abide by the needless suffering of any animals.
I cannot think of a single house on our street that doesn't have a cat, and just about all of them have dogs as well.
I will be going door to door and letting my neighbours know that there is a sick %^&* in our area and what he did.
