does that mean all knives of the same type knife should fit? I would hate to make all of these sheaths to not have them fit a customers knife, When I make my sheath I insert and pull the knife out over and over to make sure the retention is correct. Any opinions as I am kind of nervous because I listed 3 sheaths for sale on Ebay?

IMO No.

Example Given: I have several SwampRat RMD's from the same release that have visually different blade thicknesses. I think I even posted pics here of these.

Anyway, the thicker blades required a little heat on the kydex to fit properly.

if they don't fit just offer to make one a little thicker or thinner. you don't
want to have bad customer service. if you warranty your work free of defects that would be a good idea. just keep the right to decide if it is a problem or not.

Yes and no. To explain a little further. A sage finish and a black finish may not be the same thickness. Also any given knife may have a little different thickness of the coating on it causing the blade to be thicker or thinner.

On a leather sheath this is a minor concern. For a kydex sheath were pressure is the main retention method it may make a difference. But minor heating of the sheeth should take care of the majority of the problem.

I DEF do not want to have bad CS I am just worried that the average person might think it is plug N play. Would I be smart to wrap my blade in blue tape to make it slightly thicker? Is the retention in the handle or the blade itself?

I typically cover all my blades with tape and go for retension in the handle ricasso area. This is more important with satin finish blades, as they will show scratching.
It seems like you may be jumping in to this kydex business with both feet. I know it can be fun and exciting, so more power to ya. I considered doing the same but feel I'm still learning on my somewhat extensive collection and sheaths for a few buddies.

I have Scrapper 5CG for sale that I'm bundling with the Buy Brown sheath because the S5CG has the Moss coating which is heavier / thicker than the other colors so my other S5CG doesn't fit in the sheath well.

Do yall think I would be better off offering my sheath making as an actual service instead of a 1 size HOPEFULLY fits all? Where the client sends me their blade and I custom make their sheath to their particular knife? I KNOW I can make a good sheath I just don;t want to get a bad name for myself. I might pull my 2 eBay ads and revise it to an actual service, this way I can make any blade they want. I KNOW i can do this I just was not in tune to the different dimensional tolerances of each knife.

If the sheath don't fit, you must acquit.
