So I bought my first scrapyard. The only problem is it's for a friend. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" /> I went with the 511 because he is in the Army and it's a good size for that application. It's not like the movies where they take out sentries with their knives, but I know this is bomb-proof and will do anything he asks it to. I've known him since 6th grade and he was my best man in my wedding. He's always wanted to do the military and finally joined a year ago after finishing paramedic school. I figured I would give it to him when he graduates. I know that I can love and cherish it 'till he's finished and by that time I'll have a few more paychecks under my belt and can afford the 711 for myself.

I have a question about sheaths now: Which one should I get? I figure kydex would be more durable than leather but would want to use it as an insert for a cordura sheath with multiple carry options ie molle. Ideas?

Kydex from a competent bender (there are many on this forum) with Molle Locks. You can't go wrong with this setup.
