Hey dogs, could use your help. I'm torn here. Trying to raise funds for Christmas and am looking to pass on one of my choppers. The question is: which one? I have a Dogfather that's been a good and trusty companion and recently came into a new Basic 11--my only Busse--with a really cool Chuddy Bear dangler sheath.
Do I ditch the SR-77 DF for the Infi B-11? I could definitely get more for the B-11, but I have no other Busses. I assume at some point soon, the 9-11s will come out and I'll end up with one. Would I always kick myself for getting rid of the DF? Is the B-11 that much better of a knife? Opinions?

Well I still have my B11 because it fills my needs the most. But when the 911 comes out I have a feeling I will get one.

Sorry, I got no advice but just be sure it will be worth getting rid of.

I can't speak about the legendary Dog Father as I have never even held one. But I can say my B11 is certainly a keeper. It's a 1.25" bigger than the DF and I would perfer the Infi steel. The 911 will be closer in size to the DF, if you had both they would be more the same size class. I bet the 911 will heal the pain of letting the DF go.

Joshua, I think that I have to agree with Hooker. IF you plan on getting the 911, it along with the B11 will fill your needs quite well. You MIGHT miss the Dog Father but the 911 should be close enough that the pain won't be all that bad.

Tough choice! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smirk.gif" alt="" /> Do you have a B-10 on order? If so, it should be a LOT like a DFLE. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif" alt="" />

Well, in line with the interests of the Yard...the idea of best "price to performance" would make me say sell both and replace them with a 911. Financially, you would be way ahead and you wouldn't see any practical handicap.
If picking between the two...keep the B-11.

No B-10 on order--too rich for my blood. I ended up getting the B-11 for a GREAT price (about $20 or so below the original price) and the sheath was also a heckva deal. I've always wanted a Busse--just to round out the trifecta--and I doubt I'd get a better deal on one. Ish, you might have a point there though. I've gotta say that the SR-101 has held up beyond my expectations. While the SR-77 is no slacker, I ahve had to sharpen the DF, whereas my Chopweiler is still going strong despite similar levels of abuse (if not more). Decisions...decisions...
Thanks for the opinions dogs.

DT, did you keep your Rodent 9?
Also, if I recall the B11 has the original Basic handle and the DF has, well, the DF handle...which handle do you like more? Which feels better?

I'd say drop the DF. Prices are just way too high not to take advantage when the 9-11 is just around the corner.
