I forget the model of 22 it is, but it is my grandfather's, dad's and my first gun. Wood and steel and has a circular cocking thingy at the back part of the bolt.

That's some good quality kit, JJ. I agree, should last you a lifetime.

Do you have a good .22 bolt? It would be fart-quiet.

I have a really old one my grandfather used as a child. It is in Texas with the rest of my guns. (I have way too many). But, I am thinking about getting a newer one. probably one with synthetic parts.

What are you thinking about?

I love the CZ's...accurate little boogers. I also have an Izhmash (hence my name on BF) Biathlon Basic which is a hoot to shoot. Both extremely accurate rifles.

My dad just gave me his old Papoose to pass down to Lucas...but it's heavily corroded internally.

What rifles have synthetic interior parts?

Thanks guys...we are very blessed, and extremely excited about his arrival.

Here's an older pic of my russian rimfire. It has the toggle bolt action...super slick. Also my favorite mod to a scope through Leupold...added M-1 knobs to a standard 3-9 EFR scope.

DT...I agree. Did ya hear the good news...I slayed a few HOGS at the trough last weekend as well. Scored a #1 Basic 4 <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />

Marshall...that sounds like a TON of fun!

JJ...gotcha! It would be hard for me to thread an heirloom. I hear really good things about the Savage FVSR (or something like that). It's a 16" heavy barrel threaded for a suppressor. That...and wouldn't ya know, I have it on good accord that Manners just built a stock for the Savages. It would be a killer rifle.

Just found this in my PB account. God Bless the USA. This was taken at a nest that sits right off the road (less than 50 yds) which leads to the Vehicle Assembly Building at Kennedy Space Center. This pair has nested there for many years.
