The "SOC" ramp at Pope AFB pretty well ran as it's own separate entity. They came and went (Mostly at night for "Real operations") and it was not uncommon to see some scruffy, dirty, long haired bearded "Foreign weapons" carrying civilian clothed individuals coming back. Funny thing, no one ever saw them getting ON a plane. Oh and not all the planes were "Made in the U.S.A".

When doing a flightline FOD check one night and finding some strangly marked ammo I was told "You did not see this". Sometimes you DO NOT ask questions, you just say yes sir and you carry on.

They are the samething as the Chris Reeves Green beret. They get one when the finish the school and its numbered. If you are retired they will sell you a numbered one. He wouldn't use it. But he gave me the Randall he carried since 74. I think he misses the connection. He won't take the Randall back. I will probably buy him a 4-11 when they come out so he has a tough user.

I was born and raised at Bragg. It was interesting. Nothing special.

I still play video games online with the guy from the interview. It is hilarious when kids online start telling us how "real" military SF works.
