America was neck deep in two wars when I joined and my ASVAB scores where off the charts, so they pulled some some strings with the docs. I'm nearly deaf in the right ear too, and it has gotten much worse since joining. I broke 7 bones since being in too. Mostly training accidents.

I was working as a poker room manager up until two weeks before I went to Parris Island. Before that, I worked as a tattoo and portrait artist.

I couldn't draw a stick man and make him look decent. I admire anyone that can draw, and especially anyone that does tattoos. No room for mistakes there.

The portraits were mostly for well-to-do folks like lawyers, doctors and such. I reaaly hated painting streangers, but it paid the bills mostly, that's why - suplemented it with tattoos.
