So, looking at the marlin 336's, is the stainless with walnut worth the extra money over the blues steel and birch stock?

I've been looking at slingshots. Think it would be fun, and challenging.
I suspect me and my son would have a lot of inexpensive fun.

I'm feeling the urge to get a lever action rifle, leaning towards the marlin 336 line ( 30-30) seems to get good feedback, especially for the price If I'm recalling you picked up a 686 a while back. You should consider a 1894 in .38/.357. Thats what I'm wanting to pick up myself at some point.

I doubt I "need" it, I do have a Ruger security six in 357/38 special with the 6 inch barrel. I love the look of the lever actions and they look like fun to shoot also. I have a good AR, just been browsing the 30-30 lately okay its a ruger... but if you can find a .357 lever that would be a good combo I'm thinking. I would go stainless if I could find one.

I suspect me and my son would have a lot of inexpensive fun. maybe check out the slingshot thread in the outdoors forum. been having some fun with the $8 slingshot I picked up over summer. found I got pretty accurate with little practice.
