Friday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 31. West northwest wind between 9 and 13 mph.

It was WINDY Thursday, made it feel a lot colder.

I rememember Hurricane Hugo tearing up Jack here back in 1989, but it mainly got trees and power lines. It was still a hurricane, although barely, when it hit here. Charlotte got torn up pretty badly in that one.

It hit us and we're 200 miles inland. Quite the storm.

The bigger storms can really carry inland. Even here, if there is a big one that hits the gulf coast, from LA. to AL. or even part of TX., we are prone to get at least something out of it. Mainly rain, but we have got some fairly strong winds.

We get a little rain out of them now and then, but rarely do we get wind enough to do any damage.

We don't really get any damaging wind (well maybe a couple times) but just really good gusty breezes.

Just checked the Wx, lost another degree, it's 21 now.

Change of subject, but I've been carrying this edc fak in a metal soap container and I really like it. I've already used it about a half dozen times, mostly for meds, (sudafed and Tylenol) and it doesn't really bother me. Course I wear blue jeans all the time and they have a bit larger pockets.

My "Kit" is like one of those plastic soap containers you can get but it's made out of metal with a hinged lid.

You'd laugh if you saw my EDC bag. Old Grumpybutt calls it my man purse. It's one of the satchels from CountyComm, and I keep it packed full.

Sharpening kit, first aid kit, pistol and ammo, paracord, flashlights, couple knives, and in the winter I carry extra gloves and toboggans. I usually have a short roll of duct tape and some WD-40 in there too.

Plus I carry my supper in it too.

Haha, that must be a BIG bag!
