I figured it would be cheaper in Montana or Idaho than most other places. Maybe North Dakota would be cheap too, depending on the area.

I was reading a National Geographic today at the gym, it was talking about ghost towns in North Dakota. Sounded like property could probably be bought pretty reasonable there.

But it's also supposed to be as cold as Alaska, and awfully dry as well.

I'm thinking Colorado might be about perfect for me, or maybe Utah.

I found a great piece of land (20 acres) in Montana for $2,000 an acre with two creeks running through it. I am in negotiations for it now. I am thinking about selling my land or some of it in Louisiana to help pay for it.

Land with a water on it for $2,000/acre? Sounds like a deal to me!

In our area, that would be $10k/acre easily.

Land in Colorado is expensive. ANd there isn't much water to go around. Thats why I am looking at other options.

35 acres of nothing special in the mountains with no water is in the 150,000 range. For the area I'm looking at.
