fellas, i bought one of the SR wakis and one of Armorall's leather sheaths for it for $90 off the SR company store online. i saw that SY did a run of a similar piece, but made of my beloved SR77.... do any of you have both and can yall please review them and compare them for me? how thick is the scrapi vs the waki and for what they are intended for, are they equally as tough for abuse? never owned a sword so this is a first for me... thanks in advance.

9 days til we head home!!!

I asked this same question and most people said they liked the Scrapizashi more. The big difference is in the handle material, the Scizzy has a traditional wrap. The specs for both companies are on thw Swamp Rat forum on Bladeforums.

I got the Scizzy (no Waki) and love it, I also have the Swamp Rat rucki which is shorter and is still available for pre-order and the Swamp even has some in the store right now so no waiting.
If Dan makes a Scrap-a-rucki, I'll pick it up.

thanks for serving and have a great Christmas

MM

Really gonna come down to if you like the wrapped handles or the micarta/G10. I had both, blade shapes are almost identical. You can't go wrong with either .... congrats

For me, the biggest difference is that I hated the Waki's pommel (it's like two horns pointed at your belly). I posted a question about having them removed at the shop, but never got a reply and couldn't make myself pay full price for a blade that I felt the need to take a grinder to right off the bat.

There was also the BladeForums post about Dan shooting the Scizzy with a .50 BMG round -- it was only a graze, but no damage, which is fairly impressive:
Dan Throws Down With The 50BMG And The New Scrap Yard Scrapizashi!!!!!!

Congrats, on both the waki and the 9 days till home

I had both, I like the feel of the wrap but feel like it could unwrap. It never has, probably just in my head. I love the heavy feel of the micarta. It adds weight which could be good or bad depending on your use, clearing light brush, cleaving zombie skull, etc.

I agree with the negative about the SW two prongs on the pommel, If you practice Martial arts it is a common technique o use your weak hand to pommel push the blade. Kinda like a skull crusher on a knife if you do it you will stick yourself.

Both are great swords. The blades are very similar in weight and thickness. Even length. I could try and post picks of the two if you need.

Once again thanks for the service to your country

Contact Eric via the shop.ratknives.com "Contact Us" page if you need to change your order; he's good people and should take care of you. Personally, I'd prefer the Rucki -- I'd consider it more a weapon than a chopper, but it should work well in that role. It has reach, but is short enough for indoor self-defense (or even offense for that matter).

Jim, my thoughts exactly. i dont know why i said Wacki.. i bought the Rucki. and the armorall leather sheath that dwayne was selling on the store page too. so $400 for the rucki and the sheath but now i can carry it with me and throw it in the truck.

I had Waki and likedit until I got my Skizzy. The Skizzy is right here by the bed and the Waki went down the road. At first I was not sureI like the Skizzy until I held it at a knife show in AR--I did not set the Skizzy down except to get the money out and pay the crew.
