i liked what i saw in HORN DOG's thread about modding one for the yard hook.

since im not in love with that knife i didnt want to spend a whole lot on it's pants

i thought about that too, but decided to pass. it is unlikely that i'll ever carry the yard hook, so it is living in its cardboard sheath at the moment. when i have a yard again, that's definitely going to be my brush clearing, branch chopping, all around maintenance blade.

le would be nice!

while LE's are perdy, they need more upkeep, I like combat/coated now, and SY has a good system of doing it, so it lasts.

it is a nice chopper swiz, when you start using it, you'll like it <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

i don't have any uncoated fixed blades, so i'm interested in checking out the upkeep for the yard keeper.

actually, i had a d2 swamp rat safari skinner for a few months, but i gave it to a buddy. d2 is way more stainless than sr77 though...
