I had a bunch of different blades, mostly Yard and Swamp but I am down to a selected few:
B11, Battle Pappy, MUKLE from Busse
Warden, HRLM, RMDLE (1st gen), RS, and Vex from the Swamp
SODLE, BDLE, MPLE, Waki, War Dog, TT Reg, and two Vores (pink and black) from the Yard.

EventuallyI might pair this down since a couple of the Busse and the Swamps have not been used but the Yard blades won't...........know what I mean!

Men you can't trust, women you can't trust, beasts you can't trust, but Bussekin steel you can trust

I've been re-thinking my "no need for Busse Combat" rule.

Arch, all the Bussekin are great as you already know. The only thing that has kept me from buying some Swamp and Busse Combat blades(well besides being more expensive) is My needs are fulfilled by Dan's blades, although a B10 or B11 would be nice, but I would have to get rid of my DF. That said I have one swamp, the Warden and one BC, the Wardog Hack. The rest of mine are Dan's babies.

That's EXACTLY why Dan is the Father of the DogFather and I'm the GodFather of the DogFather! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />

Your last short sentence explains it to folks who may not know, or wondered about my "GodFather" avatar. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

TOM Corleone: It makes no difference, it don't make any difference to me what SYKCO a man carries for a living, you understand. But your business (without a Dogfather) is a little dangerous.

Randy, I agree. Dan's "price to performance" ethos is great. I'm just itching to try INFI.

IF you don't have one Gary, you need to pick up a Wardog. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" /> I've got a Wardog that I've rounded the butt on and lengthened the choil out to fit my fat fingers. I really like it and it sharpens up nicely. Now my Wardog HACK (Busse combat) is still virgin. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

I respect the quality and value I get from scrapyard but I would like to see an offering with some canvas micarta scales. Blade for blade, I can't see a difference in quality because I have never pushed or used my knives beyond their intended limits. I have yet to break/damage my Cold Steel Recon Scout, which is no where near the quality of my Busse-kins. We'll see what 2012 brings.

My desire for a reliable knife led me to the discovery of Bussekin.

I have a few Scrapyards now, and finally was able to order a Busse in the form of the B10. That really tempered my desires, and I have calmed down. Funny how having a few of the best calmed me down. The urge to get something better, and more specifically, reliable, is met. Now it is just a matter of picking up the occasional Scrapyard. I still would like to get something representative of Swamprat. I am also pretty sure that I will get another Busse or two, when they release something really appealing to me.

But considering the bang for the buck that scrapyard offers, I see myself leaning heavily in their direction for my collecting urges.
