I'm the first to admit that I've gone a bit "knife crazy" since discovering Bussekin knives in 2007; my current blade counts are:
Busse Combat: 105
Swamp Rat: 63
Scrap Yard: 159
The only used ones are those I bought that way in the secondary market + a green Swamp Warden I carried for a couple weeks before being told someone complained that I was carrying a weapon at work. I maintain an Excel Spreadsheet to track what I have, when I bought each of them and how much I paid (excluding shipping and taxes), largely so that my family would have some idea of what they're worth if anything were to happen to me. However, I wouldn't know how many knives I had or how much I'd spent on my hoard without it, so maintaining that documentation has been worthwhile on a personal level too. Some how your post makes my hoarding propensity seem minor or even normal in comparison <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/ooo.gif" alt="" /> Very impressive collection!

I consider all my knives, cept my Bussekin blades and maybe a dozen others just run of the mill blades. My wife has bought me many case folders (I've just got them because she bought them for me, case holds no "Gotta have" for me). Now don't get me wrong, I like my knives but only about two dozen would I consider "Carriers" from time to time. The other 100 or so just stay in the knife box.

My first (a Scrapyard) was in August I think, I have around 20 now and a "few" more ordered... <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> I am not really sure how many knives I won in total, just when I think I have a number finalised I find or remember another stuffed away in my gear or with my work gear...;)

A sad thing for me is that before I found Bussekins, I had already been collecting knives for a while, but without much focus. I have several plastic storage tubs full of Cold Steel, Camillus Beckers, Ranger, Ontario, Helle, Kellam, Iisakki Järvenpää (I went through a Puukko phase), Hanwei, Mcusta some old Westerns, as well as many other brands -- some are even cheap Chinese $2 or $3 disposables -- they all just take up room.
I was also seriously into Himalayan Imports for a long time, which is why I'm not on the "call for a khukri" bandwagon -- I've already got dozens of HIs that I (as a suburban non-outdoorsman) don't use except for one CAK to clear storm damage. Essentially, I have everything from swords to pen knives more than covered, so it makes little sense to keep buying, but I do. I probably wouldn't get away with it if I had a wife and kids, but I'm single with low house payments and a car that's paid off, limited only by my somewhat weak impulse control.
