After a buddy of mine became one of the Scrap Yard Dogs by making me an offer I couldn't refuse on my 511 (the very day it arrived) <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/doh.gif" alt="" /> , I decided to order the 711 this time . I'm wondering if I'm in good company with my new choise . I did on the first day. I've been waiting for a Camp Tramp like knife for a long time. The 711 will fit right in the camping knife spot. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

I did but my procrastinatin arse waited like 3 weeks after they were released.

I keep waiting until I've got a bit more cash in hand but will order it as soon as I can pay for it. I want 2--one to use and one for the bug out bag. This seems like the perfect blade to have in case of emergency--big enough to be a decent chopper, small enough to do all the chores I might need it to do on the run.

I agree Dogtired and Kenken , the specs on the 711 makes it look like a GREAT all around knife . I can't wait to get it , but I don't think they have even started shipping them yet . Have they ? <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />

I would like to order one. I have not yet though.

If I did not have a SODLE I would be in on the 711 like white on rice.

For those of you who wants to get one but have not yet done so: Do it before it's too late. Sometimes we don't get notified about when they are taking it down. Do it before it's too late!

Just ordered two. I really didn't want to miss out on the 711: she's going to be a classic. I found the 511 handle a little small (and I've only got little hands!) but the 711's seem to be just right.

Yeah I found the same thing with the 511 . The handle seemed a bit small . I have a Busse basic 6 and an Ontario TAK-1 and they both have handles that fit my hand better . That's why when my buddy wanted my 511 so bad I let it go and ordered the 711 . The 711 handle looks just like the one on my basic 6 .
