Hi all I had a doctors visit cancelled so as I was driving I passed a wooded area and decided to stop. I only had my edc bag and street clothes so it was more of a spend time in the outdoors than a bush craft trip.

The area was under water most of last year. this is the first time I have seen the ground.

The forest was filled with widow makers, These could really ruin your day!

The temp was high fifties and the leaves are still on the ground and give that great crunch sound walking on them, the temp for this time of the year is unheard of, tomm is supposed to snow!

With the area under water so long alot of the trees rotted out and fell.

The amount of trash that was left was unbelievable. I found everything from shopping carts to , construction debris, dead animals, and your regular people are slobs usual trash such as booze bottles and soiled condoms

This piece of drift wood was cool so the BK 2 decided it wanted a photo op.

My edc knife is my beloved Scrapyard Mud Puppy. What a fitting knife here in the bogs!

I carried a maxped jumbo versipack. It functions well. The Mud Puppy fits perfect. I use this knife for everything.

Some knife shots because thats what we do!!

I saw alot of deer in the higher parts as well as the usual squirels. There were alot of geese today as well.

Well the beavers have been very busy as well!!

The smaller run offs still had alittle frost and ice on them. Funny because it was sweatshirt weather only.

As I was walking I got that great smell of wood burning. I followed it and found a older couple possibly homeless enjoying the spirit of the flames, (as well as the spirit of some mad dog )

They invited me by the fire and the man was a woodsman from way back. He knew the woods here as if they were his own back yard, and they might be!

All in all it was a great way to just clear my mind and enjoy some time out in nature. I didnt really use the knives but this outing was more a just get out then a bushcraft trip. I

I hope you enjoy and I know some pics might be duplicate. I am having problems with my computer and will fix it up later.

As for everything being brown, it was not my cameras fault, thats the way it was

Take care,
Sar5.

That looks like a real nice area to hike and stop to make a fire . Lots of trees but not much underbrush and tangle . Say like you , it's a good thing you went when you did if you got all that snow the next day . What part of the world is that in anyway SAR ?
