I have to start here by saying that I call things as I see them . Good or bad and weather they make me popular or unpopular .

After some of you fellow dogs started receiving your 711's I realized that the blade width was the same as my Basic 6 LE and I had concerns that the two knives might seem too similar . And I posted those concerns here .

So today my package shows up . I eagerly open the box , unwrap it's contents and get a first hand look at my new 711 . Well all I can say is ACES ! The 711 is one fine knife from one end to the other . It feels very well balanced and comfortable in the hand , which should make it an excellent user knife . Also the saber grind , thicker blade stock and longer length make it considerably different from my Basic 6 LE . I was sure the knife would be good comming from Scrap Yard , but I have to say that Dan and his crew at the Scrap Yard company have made a knife that I don't think can be matched for anywhere near the price .

Look who I'm talking to ! I'm the new guy here , you all already knew this !

Anyway once the snow and freezing rain stops and I get the mess cleaned up I'm going to take this new dog into the woods and it chew on some wood and take some pics

Thanks SAR . Yeah it's a beauty alright . I'll be getting this snow cleaned up today and hope to get up in the mountains in the next day or two to do some wood chopping and take those pics .

I'm glad that you found out what most of us already knew; Dan is the Big Dog of "Price to Performance Ratio", and that the 7-11 is a great knife!!! I have been carrying mine every day since I received it, and I have a LOT of knives to choose from!

I just made a couple of simple dangler type sheaths for my 7-11's; I'll get a couple of pics up later. Oh...no special names for them, unlike my Sunshine and Sexy Lexi B-10 sheaths!

OK, a couple pics of my "plain-Jane" 7-11 sheaths with my B-10 Sunshine sheath.

On one I have a double snap leather sheath holder, the other has a double holster clip for quick hooking on a belt.
