I possess a Scrapizashi and Waki but have been hesitant to put them to work. It's hard to intentionally beat up works of art.

I also have an Ontario machete that I bought many years ago but I'd love to replace it as a good beater machete if there is a superior option available.

The Ka-bar Kukri caught my eye as it is pretty inexpensive and the reviews on Amazon are very good. Sadly it's made in Taiwan. However, for the price I'm willing to overlook this. Wondered if any of you guys have tried one of these out?

ESEE Lite Machete cuts very well and has a comfortable micarta handle. Don't buy it with the factory sheath, as it is by their own admission pretty lousy. The machete itself is very nice though.

I agree with java, the esee's lite machete is awesome. If you search my posts I did a review of it last year.

I don't know if it's up your alley or not, but you might try out the Bear Grylls parang machete. You can find it for under $30 bucks and it's a pretty good blade.

It't by Gerber (made in China, but DO NOT let this put you off). They did a nice job on it.

Hey Adam, how many more days before you are going to have to buy blades with a TINY LITTLE HANDLE, for tiny little hands?

Martindale. 24" Latin style. wood or plastic handles.
Or, a 24" latin style Tramontina. I don't think they are as comfortable to use as the martindale out of the box... but both might need a little handle sanding... especially the wood handles.

Price point is great for both.

My crews prefer the Martindale.

Doc

edited to say...

Unless you can find an old Collins 24" Latin style... Those were the best, IMHO
