Ok, it's been a while since we have been able to go to Mingo, Patty just hasn't felt well enough. Well that all changed this week. So for your Picture viewing pleasure I give you some Pictures she emailed to me here at work.

First off, a VERY rare sight here in Southeast Missouri out in the wild, Trumpeter Swans.

Next up, a Fox Squirrel basking in the early morning sunshine, and Sunshine there was, it got up almost to 65!

A hungry Swamp Dweller just starting lunch

Finishing up the last of 4 such tidbits.

The King on his Throne

Letting all far and wide know who is the greatest!

Watching how Dad does it!

I hope you enjoy the pictures as much as we enjoyed getting them.

N84, Thank you. If you want to read about it just go here:

http://www.fws.gov/midwest/mingo/

And Yeah, we go there quite a bit. It's not uncommon for Patty to take 200-300 pictures in one drive through on a good day.

We have seen Beaver, Otter, Mink, Coon, Possum, Armadillo, Pelicans and all sorts of birds along with the abundant Deer.

If Patty was to read what Y'all wrote she would say thank you and blush. She's pretty shy, specially about her pics. She really enjoys taking pictures of animals like this. She has jumped out of the truck and ran up and down the ditch before chasing a Beaver AND an Otter as well. You should have seen the gleam in her eyes and the smile on her face when she can get pics like that. We've got some photo albums at home, Oh I guess maybe 19 of them and each book has 200 pictures. You can do the math. PLUS when the computer crashed last year she probably lost 10-20 THOUSAND pictures, but she had the better part of them saved on CD as well.

She really enjoys it and I enjoy getting her to the location and seeing the animals. We've had a lot of fun.

Then keep getting her there, it's your mission, Chairman!

Hehe, sent you a PM.

No matter how good (I) think Patty's pictures are she has only been really pleased with just a relatively few of them. Guess that is just one thing that makes her keep trying. Those Swans REALLY made us wish she had a doubler for her lens though. They were probably more than 200 yards away.

If you are totally satisfied with your pictures, you don't know what a good picture is.

If I ever make it out there for a visit, you'll have to take me to this MINGO place. I'd love to photograph it myself.
