That one you found looks like an incredible deal - at that price I'm gonna pick up two! Evil Spock, if you are willing to buy two of those, I suggest you take a look at the Powerfilm f15-600. It is flexible, produces 10W at 15v/.6amps. If you check Powerfilm's website, you can see them taking several bullets and continue to produce nearly the same output. A little shopping around and you can find one for about $110.

Jarhead,
Thanks very much for that info. I am a bit of a redundancy freak so if I can buy 2 of one thing at .5X I will, since if one craps out I still have one good working piece of gear. In that case I guess the PowerFilm F15-300 would be my ticket? Anyway, the guy that sells these claims that you can double em up with a USB Y-adapter and I will be trying that out. He also said that if they don't work for my devices, return for money-back - very nice.
That being said, I am very impressed about the bullet test you have mentioned and will definitely take a look. I had been scared away from PowerFilm because I thought they all required batteries being plugged-in but I am assuming the one you have mentioned does not require this.

Iwith you on the redundancy. I have been thinking about upgrading to the F15-1200 or getting a second 600. After reading your response, I am set on the second 600 since you can daisy chain them.
Only the AA/USB Powerfilm requires batteries to charge USB devices. The rest come with cigarette lighter adapters and only need light.
I was turned on to Powerfilm in Indonesia during a deployment during a response to an earthquake. I was pretty much rogue, hopping from place to place and didn't have access to generators and the grid was down. I was issued one of the large models to charge my laptop, camera, sat-phone and satellite uplink. It was a camo version made for the military and worked great even after my abuse.
I can't say they are better than the one Monkey Bomb has since I have no experience with them. I am curious to see what MB has to say about his after a year or so. I hope it holds up as I like having options.

I will PM you so I dont violate TOS for Deal spotting Thats a really nice little setup, whats the brand or where can you buy it? I assume it doesn't come with a storage battery?
I have two small panels and the little battery (can be charged from usb/panels and will charge usb) from voltaic systems, pretty nice setup, but takes up more space than yours. MB could you PM that info too?

PM sent BLD.
I have mine safely stored in a pelican 1060. The otterbox was just a hair too small. It barely fits in the pelican. But I have it tilted in there with a USB charger and a couple enoloop batteries and a charger cord for my phone. I am set for the season.

Public discussion of the product itself does not violate deal spotting TOS anymore than our discussion of the Powerfilm arrays. You can read about the Pocket Panel here: http://www.portablesolarpower.biz/collec...e-phone-chargerI tested both of mine today and they worked just fine charging a Kindle and an iPod Touch 2G. I also connected them together with a USB Y-adapter cable and they appeared to charge a crappy Sandisk MP3 player (only device I had compatible with the Y-adapter) just fine. Unfortunately I do not have the appropriate equipment to confirm if the current output was doubled. IMO one of these guys coupled with a non-3G Kindle that stores all your SHTF pdf books make a perfect BOB couple.

Ok, If I want to recharge 4-8 aa batteries, and MAYBE power a "Survival" radio (SW,weather etc information) how many Amps would the unit need to produce? I am ok on the watts, but don't know about the amperage needed.
