thanks for the advise guys. I also am looking at the Sig misquote, and their 1911 style .22 I also saw that you can get the 226 and some others with a 22 slide and add the bigger caliber slides later. the Buck mark is a great gun along with the rugers. lots to think about.

lots of .22 pistols to choose from. I never could decide on one myself. plus it always bugged me that almost all of the only had 10 shot mags.

I think now I'd maybe have to look at something that can be converted. either a revolver that with a magnum barrel or a 9mm with a conversion kit. would probably only shoot .22 with it but the added value of being able to go to a 9mm or other caliber for ~$250 seems to be worth it. I like the EAA witness since it can take a wide range of calibers on the same frame. but I really think I would like a hi-power 9mm with a .22 conversion kit. unfortunately the guy who makes the kits got arrested or something.

if i was to go with a dedicated .22 pistol I think it would be a ruger or browning. there just seems to be plenty of parts and accessories for those so tricking them out would be easy.

How about the kel tec pmr 22 mag. It has a 30 round magazine. But ive never shot one. I love the ruger mk series. And I really liked my walther p22

Stay away from the Mosquito; there have been many problems and that is not just internet noise. There have been improvements, but why risk it? (Unless you're looking for a hobby--tinkering with it. This from a diehard SIG lover). Ruger Mark I,II, or III, or Buck Mark; tried and true, and reasonably priced. Try them out or hold them if you can, but if not, either would do, although the Buck Mark is known for its ergonomics. I prefer it. It is more easily field stripped for cleaning. It's a great gun. You can find others, but these are all you need; they are the benchmark for .22 cal. semi-autos of their type and price range. If you spend time on internet gun forums, the two come up over and over every time a question like yours is raised.

It seems finding a holster for any of the .22 guns is a pain.

Not if you go with the buckmark or the ruger mk(x). Or if you go with the walther p22...but then you give up reliability and accuracy (it is an easy gun to suppress though <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> )

ISSC Austria M22, 22LR

I've had this one for almost a year now and my son is the one who has put most of the rounds through it. As long as you use CCI ammo the thing runs 100% and is pretty darn accurate.

It also fits the same holster as my Glock 21 and 30.

I have a S&W Model 17 revolver that I love. It is big and heavy but it fires every time and acurate too. I recently picked up a Kel Tec PMR-30 but yet to run it through the paces. As soon as I do I will update on it.
