that is very nice James, why so many pins in the aft section?
my thought was I left a gap between the end of the back-lock and aft section so I wanted to put lots of pins there make it strong and somewhat decorated, In all honesty I would use small square headed hex screws for the entire assembley

yes WD I would love to sit at the sander then toss my work in the fire and see how the magic works, I wish my passion for knives was stronger when I was younger and had my grandfather's shop at my disposal, I.E. the tools in it.

that sounds great, I know what you mean, but at least the stuff they have today is pretty good! Most makers will help you out James, share and teach you just have to find one in your area, I think their are tons in Oregon, I'm gonna find a few!

My brother in law has mentioned that there are a lot of knifemakers in Oregon.. Any particular reason why?

makes perfect sense bro! In a couple I hope to have a nice shop and kiln and the tools needed for heat treating and tempering, you will be welcome to come make anything you want James, you'll even get great crab legs!

wow thanks WD.

jumps, I bet the plethora of makers in oregon (small custom shops and big manufacturers) is due to their lax(inteligent)knife gun and weapon laws

lol all the breweries! I think it's the location, the ecology, their are many artist types out there and it's conducive to creativity (trees, forest, mountains, ocean low populations) and their are no state taxes! Just a theory.
