I bought hornady critical Defence for my pd rounds but my dad will only carry hydrashock ammo.

I had a .40 Sig P229, and I got rid of it. Partially because of me moving to one platform (Glock) and partially because I just plain needed the money. I miss it every now and then.

40 gives more rounds than 45 but more power then 9mm sound like a win win for me

With modern ammunition the difference is neglible. But I still like the bigger hole theory.

My dad 25year old 40 ammo shoot well and the fmj left some nice holes in the torso target. The hollow point should be nasty

Amen MB. My dad has me shoot double taps till the target is down or another threat needs taken care of. Then if you put two BIG HOLES in the target you in theory put more lethal energy on target with the bigger rounds.

I've always thought of .40 as a compromise, albeit a good one.

People like my daughter that have trouble with recoil do a lot better with the 9mm. She just can't shoot a .40, it's too snappy for her.

She can shoot a 9mm or a .45 acp, but the .40 bothers her.

A lot of people do not like the 40. It is my favorite but I have been shooting one for 20 years or so. 9MM is cake. I love the 45acp as well. Oh heck I just like to shoot.
