I did see something hilarious jut now though.
I walked to the post exchange to get a couple 22s of Sierra Nevada Pale Ale. I had to cross a training field where four recruits were in a row in the kneeling firing position with toilet plungers for rifles. The one in the back ran forward and leaped over each of the other three kneeling recruits. When he reached the front of the line, he took a knee, swept the area with his "weapon" and yelled clear before the last guy repeated the process. When i asked "what the hell are you doing?" One said "tactical leap frog sir!"
Then I noticed two drill instructors doing a great job of keeping a straight face. I did not.
