I plan to make a sheath from nylon and kydex to hold my DF and War Dog, plus two pouches of stuff.

I'm liking the WarDog more all the time, but the 311 is just so darn handy to carry.

That will be very handy. Make room somewhere for a firestarting kit (I would recommend one of DT's Kits) and maybe room for a survival straw and collapsible water bladder and you will be set to survive long enough to be rescued.

But what if you can't flick your bic?, or It leaks or fails. Just use the Fire Kit as a backup. I also carry a bic in my kit, but have more fun using the kit.

This is off the topic we've been talking about, but how old were you when y'all left Iran?

I do have a fire steel buried in the bottom of my pack. Never needed to use it though. Struck it a few times to make sure I could make fire with it and forgot about it.
