My wife's pepper spray fell out of her purse in the back seat of her car. Its good stuff, 10% OC and 2 million SHU's. Same strength as the LE stuff. It exploded today, at some point, and painted the back seat of her car orange. She didn't realize it until she was driving to work! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" /> So I took the boys over and parked next to her car at work, they watched a DVD in the Explorer, and I spent like 2 hours cleaning and exposing myself to pepper spray. I don't know how she drove it to work, cuz I only lasted about 20 seconds at a time in there until I got a good portion of the orange up. It was almost as bad as when I got sprayed in the face w/ it last month. I went through 2 bottles of foaming carpet cleaner and 2 rolls of paper towels so far. Its a lot better, but still not "good." I used Simple Green on all of the plastic, but the vinyl door covering (or whatever it is) is stained orange and is still pretty spicy smelling, after a ton of scrubbing. Soooooo, if anyone has any pepper spray removal ideas, let me know!

ahhh man dice, I hope you didn't get the "and you made me carry it!" speech!!! Not yet, but I'm sure I will <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" /> When she called and told me about it - I was just like, "you're kidding me." And the worst part is that I'd seen it in the back seat last night and didn't think to grab it. I'm not going to tell her that <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> although I did feel guilty enough to rush over and start cleaning! I bought her a new can already. Safety first!! I can deal with some cleaning and $1500 less on the resale value of my car in order to keep the family a little bit safer! Oh well - just some bad luck this week! My brother and his friends lit a hillside on fire w/ some fireworks yesterday, the FD had to come put it out, and they're going to have to foot the bill. No charges, but its still going to be pricey for a 17 year old kid to pay for. Just some Murphy's Law going on around here this week!

I'll look online. I know all about cleanup on people, but not cars. I know that there are some special wipes of somekind that cops use, but I couldn't find any locally.

so it is spray and marking stuff? I didn't know they had that out, I'll remember what happened and if and when I get some I'll keep them wipes around too!

The pepper makes the spray orange, at least thats my understanding. Every pepper spray that I've seen is orange when it comes out. Jeeps - I'll probably call the manufactururer tomorrow if I don't get it figured out tonight. My wife has some cleaning supplies from work that she's going to try on it tonigh (she just called). Fun fun fun! I've washed my hands like 10 tims, and my fingers are still spicy if when I touch them to my tongue!
