Just now finished supper myself. Grilled chicken, boiled potatoes and corn on the cob. I'm fat and happy and ready to watch some tv.

Yup. I grilled up some burgers and venison backstraps seasoned three ways (traditional steak seasoning, a rub I concocted for smoking pork roasts but works nice and tasty on the steaks, and an East Asian-inspired marinade). My wife added a cabbage and cranberry salad and a bag of chips and there ya are. Fat AND sassy! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

hey man. i am considering declaring a new favorite survival knife. just put this thing through more abuse than any other knife i've ever used (not that my busse kin couldn't take it, they just never had the opportunity) and it still does small knife work flawlessly.

hey men*

i did do some modification. just a reprofiling and ditching the massive, heavy factory sheath for a cereal box, gorilla tape, and some ACU pattern duct tape.

kabar pestilence. i had some chopped maple sitting in front of the house for four years minimum, probably longer. pulled out a six inch thick log and split it. tough job, i almost never flex my knives or hit them that hard, but it came through.

then i chopped those thinner sections into shorter pieces to fit in my fire pit. my gransfors might have only done slightly better.

then i shaved some nice, fine slivers. my mora 2000 might have only done slightly better.

the blunt tip is very easy to hold to throw sparks from close in, easily lighting those shavings.

only thing it's missing is a res-c handle. that would be perfect.

i do know that i'm giving it more credit than it deserves. i could have put that same edge geometry on any heavy knife, but those two inch broad blades make little tasks difficult. this one's narrow near the hand and big at the tip.

Did you leave the green handles on yours? I didn't.
