kabar pestilence. i had some chopped maple sitting in front of the house for four years minimum, probably longer. pulled out a six inch thick log and split it. tough job, i almost never flex my knives or hit them that hard,but it came through.

then i chopped those thinner sections into shorter pieces to fit in my fire pit. my gransfors might have only done slightly better.

then i shaved some nice, fine slivers. my mora 2000 might have only done slightly better.

the blunt tip is very easy to hold to throw sparks from close in, easily lighting those shavings.
